Introduction
If you are looking for a small, fast and inexpensive quadcopter to introduce yourself to the drone world, then this is definitely for you. This is a highly agile little drone which is great for indoor flying. There are blue LED lights in the front, and red at the back so you can track this little drone in the dark. There are also two little headlights as well.
There are no prop guards, so be careful when flying indoors.

Short flight times
The low capacity battery makes for short flight times.

Expert mode hard to master
The advanced flight mode can be tough to master.

Low quality camera
The camera does not take great pictures, but is fun to play with.
Controller
The controller is comfortable to hold and fits well in the hand. It almost has the feel of a gaming console controller. The transmitter has up and down trim for all axes, as well as throttle adjustments. The LCD screen allows you to adjust the settings and change the flight mode. You can reduce, or increase the performance of the drone from the controller. This is a bit surprising as you wouldn’t normally find this for an inexpensive drone such as the Hubsan X4. You will need 4 AAA batteries for this controller.
You can also calibrate the gyros and accelerometers by using the controller.
Battery and Flight Time
The battery is charged with the included USB charger. The red light indicates charging, and turns off when you are ready to go. There is no power switch on the drone, so as soon as you plug the battery in, it is ready to go fly. It takes about 30 minutes to charge the battery
When the battery level is getting low, all of the LED lights start flashing so you know to bring the drone home for a recharge. You will get about 5 minutes of flight time, so you may want to pick up a few extra batteries.

Flight Performance
The agility and response of this drone, considering its price, is very surprising. The drone is quick, nimble, and there is no delay.
There are two flight modes built into this little drone. The low mode is not very exciting, and lets you fly normally. The expert mode allows you to do some acrobatic flips by pushing the stick controls. In this mode you will see just how agile this little drone is. It is very fast, and will take some practice to control the drone in this mode.
You may notice that the arms do flex, and snap out of place if you push a bit too hard. This little design provides for robustness to crashes. You will most certainly crash the drone a few times.
Hubsan X4 Review Summary
The Hubsan X4 is an excellent choice for a micro quadcopter. It flies very smooth and is very responsive. For the low price, this little quadcopter is hard to beat.
